Rep Platform Terms of Use

Last Updated: March 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Rep platform and related services (“Rep”, “Service”). By creating, accessing, or using a Rep account, you agree to these Terms.

The Rep platform provides a system for creating and managing a digital representation of user preferences (“Rep”) that may be used by applications and simulation services built on the Rep infrastructure.

1. Overview

Rep is an infrastructure platform that allows users to create a digital representation of preferences and interact with simulation-based applications. Applications and simulation services built on the Rep platform may use your Rep to run simulations based on the preferences you explicitly provide.

Rep itself does not guarantee outcomes or recommendations. It stores and manages preference data and enables authorized simulation services to access that data under your permissions.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create or use a Rep account. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

3. Rep Accounts

To use Rep, you must create or connect a Rep account through supported authentication providers.

Your Rep account may include:

  • A Rep name
  • Optional demographic information (such as age range, gender, or location)
  • Preference vectors created through supported applications
  • Permissions controlling which simulation services may access your Rep

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide.

4. Authentication

Rep uses third-party authentication providers such as Web3Auth and Google. By using these authentication methods, you agree to the respective terms and privacy policies of those providers. Rep is not responsible for outages, changes, or limitations imposed by authentication providers.

5. Permissions and Access Control

You control which applications may access your Rep through the permissions system. Applications may only access the preference vectors and capabilities that you explicitly enable. You may revoke permissions at any time through the Rep client.

6. Preference Vectors

Preference vectors represent structured signals about preferences that you explicitly teach to your Rep. These vectors may be used by simulation services to generate modeled outputs. Rep does not interpret these vectors as recommendations, predictions, or advice.

7. Simulation Services

Applications built on Rep may run simulations using your preference vectors. Simulation outputs:

  • Are generated from modeled interpretations of your stated preferences
  • Are not recommendations, endorsements, or professional advice
  • Do not represent predictions of real-world behavior or future choices

Simulation services may use third-party model inference providers to generate outputs.

8. Usage Limits

Rep may impose reasonable usage limits, including limits on the number of simulations or requests per day, to ensure fair access and system stability.

9. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for unlawful purposes
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or interfere with the platform
  • Misuse authentication systems or access controls
  • Attempt to probe, systematically query, or extract underlying models or preference structures

10. Service Availability

The Rep platform relies on third-party infrastructure providers, authentication systems, analytics services, and model inference providers. Rep does not control these providers and is not responsible for outages, interruptions, delays, or failures caused by them. The Service is not guaranteed to be uninterrupted or continuously available.

11. Experimental Nature

Certain applications and simulation services built on Rep may be experimental. Results generated through simulation services may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inconsistent and are provided for informational and experimental purposes only.

12. Intellectual Property

All software, infrastructure, and design of the Rep platform are owned by the platform operators or their licensors. You may not copy, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works without permission.

13. Termination

Rep may suspend or terminate access to the platform at its discretion, including for violations of these Terms or abuse of the system.

14. Modifications

Rep may update or modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Contact

For questions regarding these Terms, contact team@opensim.io.

By creating or using a Rep account, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms of Use.
